The purpose of this course is to enable you to reduce operating cost and provide energy savings to the building you are responsible for. The knowledge and skills learned here are highly valued in the energy, controls, HVAC, green, and sustainability industries and help make our planet healthier.
The focus is on large (100,000+ square feet) office buildings, but the concepts and techniques presented can be applied to any type and size of facility that has a building automation system. This course assumes that learners have a working knowledge of HVAC and other building systems.
Throughout this course, you will learn the initial steps involved in re-tuning a building controlled via a building automation system. Interactive exercises are included to provide you "hands-on" practice of the re-tuning process within a virtual building. Animations are also presented to help explain key concepts. Be sure to check out the Resources page as well. There, you can download helpful tips sheets and checklists and access related websites and other valuable resources to help you become a building re-tuning expert.
The intended audience for this course includes:
- onsite employees (building managers, engineers, and operators)responsible for day-to-day building operations,
- offsite contractors hired to improve a building's energy efficiency, and
- college students interested in entering this field.
